Your Golf Slice Gone Right
Are you looking to learn how to play golf? The process of correcting a slice while learning how to play golf requires patience and effort. Correcting a slice for those learning how to play golf does not have a quick or easy solution. To do so, you will need time and patience in finding the cause of your problem. A lot of times you need to focus on your feet and your hands to maximize your game. The following are helpful pointers for common reasons of golf slice.
There are a number of things that could cause your shots to go off course. One, in particular, is quite common than the others-the address. Players usually go with a position having their feet, shoulder and hips directed towards the target. This is called a square stance. Be cautious with this because stepping your left foot too far forward will result automatically in a golf slice. Keep in mind the position of the left foot which should always be precisely under the left shoulder. The same applies to your hips. If not, you can expect that ball flying anywhere but towards the target. Follow these tips to help you improve your golf game.
As you continue to learn how to play golf, make sure you are always checking your grip. The correct grip unlike many misinformed beginners believe, should not be too tight because it will open the club head. The same holds for holding the club too loosely. You want a grip that is neutral where only two or three knuckles are showing from the left hand. If there are none, then you already know you are grasping the club incorrectly. Using these “knuckle-less” grip will rotate the hands into a neutral position as you return to the strike zone. You will again, end up with a slice from an open club face. Move your hands around to readjust and correct your grip. After this, check if you have achieved the desired position by hitting a few balls. Something as minor as changing the grip will have a great influence on how you play. Keep the right grip in mind once you have found it.
It is important that you have the correct tempo for your swing. Do not be tempted to be inclined to using your arms as the source of the power of your shots. This will lead to opening the club face because once the downswing motion is started, it will be incorrectly led by the hands. You will see that ball flying to the right. You should strive for movements that are smooth and relaxed. Prevent sudden, quick motion especially at the top of the backswing. Your hips should initiate the downswing. It might also be useful to look at the divot to check your address. If it is not pointed to the target, then you need to go back to your stance and see if it is square. Ultimately, golf will be a lot less frustrating and a lot more enjoyable with the elimination of the slice problem. You just need to look for the reason you keep ending up with a misdirected ball, practice a lot to master the basic skills in golf and then end up playing like an experienced pro.
Keep the above tips in mind as you perfect your golf game. They will take you far in the quest to correct your game.
